Andrew Manning

Platform Director

Andrew Manning is the Secretary General of the European Concert Hall Organisation (ECHO).  The ECHO network brings together 21 of Europe’s leading concert halls and focuses on professional exchange, shared initiatives and advocacy.   In parallel Andrew runs the Geodesk dedicated to the Nordic region at the Centre for Fine Arts Brussels (BOZAR).  Andrew previously worked as Head of Arts at the British Council in France, and earlier in his career at the British Council in Brussels as well as the BBC and the National Youth Orchestra back in the UK.   Brussels based since 2010, Andrew has a degree in Modern Languages from the University of Oxford and is a member of the Governance Committee of the International Society for the Performing Arts.

Andrew leads the overall strategic direction of Classical Futures, partner relations, day-to-day management and reporting & relationship with the European Union.

Mark Lewis

Marketing and Communications Consultant

Mark Lewis is a freelance marketing, brand and communications consultant working with organisations in the performing arts sector across Europe. Based in London Mark has held senior roles as a staff member and consultant at major organisations such as Universal Music Group, Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, Specialised Travel Ltd and the Philharmonia Orchestra. From 2012 – 2016 Mark established Sinfini Music as the no.1 digital-only classical music brand for Universal Music Group and projects as consultant involve a focus on building brands and identifying the most effective strategies to develop audiences and grow customers.

Mark is responsible for leading the communications strategies for Classical Futures Europe, developing the brand, liaising with partners, stakeholders and audiences, maintaining the website and other promotional strategies.

Roger Christmann

Financial Management Consultant

After a master in business administration, Belgian-born Roger Christmann started his professional career as a credit officer and head of a credit department in a commercial bank. He made his start in the culture sector at Brussels 2000, European city of Culture. He was managing director of the Brussels based kunstenfestivaldesarts where he launched the EU-project Next Step, and of Theater der Welt 2010 in Germany. Since 2011, he works as advisor for management and financing of cultural organisations, amongst others for the financial management of Creative Europe projects. He speaks fluent French, English and Dutch in addition to mother tongue German.

Roger leads the overall financial management of Classical Futures Europe and the development of project management tools for the partners.

Katherine Zeserson

Strategic Advisor

Katherine Zeserson has a varied free-lance portfolio combining organisational and leadership development with design and delivery of professional training in a wide range of music, education and cultural contexts. From 2001 to 2015 she was Founding Director of Learning and Participation at Sage Gateshead in the Northeast of England. Current organisational clients include: Snape Maltings, Music Generation Ireland, Wicklow County Council, European Concert Hall Organisation, Dash Arts, Philharmonie Luxembourg, Royal Opera House Covent Garden, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. She is Programme Director for the Paul Hamlyn Foundation initiated inspire-music, and holds a consultancy role working with Santa Marcelina Cultura (Sao Paulo, Brazil), delivering socially engaged music programmes with young people . She is a founder member of UK-based a cappella vocal quartet Mouthful.

Katherine leads on the development of professional development opportunities for artists and supports the Classical Futures Europe platform and its members in the development of their work with emerging talent, especially in the field of Education, Learning and Participation.
